HCG Diets and Losing Weight

Weight loss spelled out in capital letters

These days, it might seem like everyone is on some sort of diet or the other weight loss. However, they don’t work for everyone. For people struggling with obesity, it can be especially challenging to lose weight despite giving it their best.

An HCG diet might be the best option for those people. Here's what the HCG diet is all about and how you can benefit from it:

What Is HCG?

HCG is a hormone that is produced in the female body during pregnancy. It metabolizes fat and utilizes it as energy in situations when the mother is unable to intake the required amount of calories.

How Does The Diet Work?

For the duration of the diet, the participant’s daily calorie intake is reduced to under 1000 calories per day. They are also given low-dose HCG injections.

The purpose of the HCG injections is to help the body reset its metabolism and quickly metabolize fat if you’re low on energy.

Once the diet period is over, you're not expected to continue with the low-calorie diet. However, you're expected to adjust your general eating habits according to your new weight and fat-intake requirements.

Where Should You Get Your HCG From?

It’s important to note that HCG is a prescription-based medicine and it should not be taken without a physician's supervision.

You should go through the process with a doctor who is able to look at your pre-existing conditions and plan your diet accordingly. Additionally, if the diet isn't working as expected, the doctor will make adjustments.

Having worked with patients over the course of several years, we recommend Dr. Delara Tavakoli as she understands which diet is best suited to which patient and how to get maximum benefit from an HCG diet.

How Does Dr.Tavakoli’s HCG Diet Plan Work?

Step 1

It gets you started with a 43-day plan. The first two days include a high intake of food with the injections, followed by 38 days with a low-calorie diet and injections, and then finally a couple of days with low-calorie intake and no injections.

Step 2

For 21-days, you’re on a high-calorie diet that keeps you away from foods that contain high starch content, such as pasta, potatoes, white bread, etc.

Step 3 and 4

Repeat the first two steps.

Step 5

You stop receiving the injections and re-adjust your regular diet in a way that allows you to continue living your life in a more healthy manner.
